Madiba Magic

Amcare was blessed on the morning of 18 July 2016 with a donation from Makro Alberton, the donation of food items worth R10 000 will assist us in rendering the necessary services to victims of Domestic Violence and the Orphan and Vulnerable children that fall under our HIV programme. Makro did not just provide food items their staff rallied together with man (and women) power and spent time at Amcare laying a much needed carpet in a social work office and preparing vegetables for the soup we make for clients that drop-in daily at our offices. They say many hands make light work and this team really showed the benefit of having many hands.   Thank you Makro for your continued support and excellent partnership.

Pam Golding Alberton and JHB South surprised 26 of Amcare’s clients with a Street Fair – where clients were able to do some free shopping at their own leisure.  Amcare transported some of their most poorest clients  from Tokoza, Eden park, Phola Park and Greenfields to our offices in New Market to give them an opportunity to get some necessary clothing for the cold weather.  The Team from Pam Golding cleared their own cupboards to bless our clients and make this winter less chilly.   We would like to extend our gratitude to Pam Golding for creating this opportunity for the second year in a row.

Kemtek Imaging Systems blessed Amcare with a donation of R5000 worth of groceries for victims of domestic violence.  The staff from Kemtek also spent time with some of our clients and children who found themselves needing to escape the effects of domestic violence. Each client and their children received a Mandela day surprise in the form of a goody bag.

Amcare was very blessed to have 3 staff from SA Institute for Graduate Co-operatives come participate in Mandela day and learn more about Amcare.  Thank you for taking the time out to share your time and knowledge with us and participating in packing the food parcels we received.

One company who wants to remain anonymous brought paint and painted most of our flower pots. Thank you for your support.

Not only did companies give of their time, individuals and families arrived to show there spirit for Mandela Magic.  The Houniet family (Dad, Mom and 2 little girls) made their mark by cleaning the food store and working in our vegetable garden, we were very humbled by the two little pairs of hands leaving their mark.

Thank you to Checkers Hyper New Market for feeding all the staff on the premises.  The boerie rolls, soup, coldrink and pannekoek came at the right time and gave us energy for the rest of the Mandela day supporters

The children and parents of the Suiderlig Voortrekkers pilfered their sock drawers and managed to fill a huge washing basket with socks for our drop-in clients.  Now all the drop-in clients will be able to receive a scrumptious cup of soup and have warm feet.  Thanks for your concern for people that are less fortunate than you.

Amcare gave back their 67 Minutes on Tuesday 19 July 2016 by visiting the Alberton SAPS office. Amcare staff (managers and ground staff included) got down and dirty and cleared the surrounding gardens of weeds, leaves and debris.  What a wonderful opportunity to bless those who serve others and keep our town safe.  The catering staff at Amcare prepared Soup and Sandwiches which was handed out to the officers and admin staff at SAPS.  Thank you for the working relationship we have, may we keep advocating and bring change to the Alberton community.
