AMCARE provides formal training in a variety of areas to equip people with skills either to find employment or to start their own small businesses. 140 students have been trained by this program since January this year.

Catering 12 classes and 62 students completed this 6 week course in the first half of 2008. Students are given starter packs at the end of the course to begin their own businesses. Sasko sponsors the flour. 10 of these students found related employment In 2007 this ministry sold R56,000.00 worth of Christmas Cake (1 Ton Of Fruit Cake) as a fundraising activity for AMCARE The aim is to exceed this target in 2008. The catering students also cater for the functions of various government departments , private individuals and the church.

Sewing Basics 6 classes and 42 students completed the 4 week Sewing course during the first half of 2008.

Food Gardening - The gardening programme provides training in food gardening, compost making and permaculture. - Training has taken taken place over a wide service area as far as Nelspruit . - The Food Garden Project on AMCARE’s premises provides food for AMCARE’s feeding scheme. Forty of AMCARE’s beneficiaries have food gardens at their homes.

Domestic worker training These students receive basic skills training in cooking and baking, sewing and mending, food gardening, beadwork, first aid and child minding. 30 Domestic Workers that were trained by AMCARE were successfully placed during the first half of this year. Patient care / Caregiver courses / HIV & AIDS caregiver training - These courses are awaiting accreditation with the HWSETA.
